NEXT year is an exciting year for theme park enthusiasts, with a number of new rides and parks opening in 2020.
We’ve rounded up the most thrilling rollercoasters and attractions to open in the UK.
Theme park fans can make the most of a whole new theme park in Yorkshire, called Gulliver’s Valley.
Another new land will be at Alton Towers, based on David Walliams’ popular kids books.
A 1950s America-inspired land will be opening in Paultons Park while Legoland and Flamingo Land have some yet-to-be-revealed-rides opening.
Here are some of the new openings to add to your diary for 2020.
1. Gulliver’s Valley, Yorkshire
Gulliver’s Valley is a brand new theme park opening in the UK next year.
The £37 million park is being built in Yorkshire, featuring 70 new rides.
Across the 250-acre park will also be an indoor-entertainment area and lands including Wild Western World, Toy Land and Lost Jurassic World.
Hotels with themed prince and princess rooms will be on-site, as well as glamping options.
2. Tornado Springs at Paultons Park, Hampshire
A new 1950s Americana themed land called Tornado Springs is coming to Paultons Park in 2020.
Eight new rides, designed for kids up to the age of 14, will open, including the Storm Chaser rollercoaster and The Cylonator pendulum ride.
The theme continues into the eating establishments – Route 83 Diner will offer meals for families while Al’s Garage will sell sweets and snacks.
It will be the fifth land for the park, which also has Critter Creek, Little Africa, Lost Kingdom and the UK-exclusive Peppa Pig World.
3. David Walliams attraction at Alton Towers, Staffordshire

A collaboration between David Walliams and Alton Towers was announced earlier this year.
While little is known about the project, a number of rides and attractions based on the comedian’s children’s books will open in 2020.
The new The World of David Walliams land will be built near Cloud Cuckoo Land in the park, and is likely to include some of the popular book The Ice Monster.
It’s the fastest selling book since JK Rowling’s Cursed Child.
4. Duplo Dream Coaster at Legoland Windsor, Berkshire

Legoland’s first rollercoaster in the Duplo Valley is set to open next March.
Duplo Dream Coaster will be suitable for kids under three years old and will be part of the Tiny Feet attractions.
Little more is currently known about the ride but the park said passengers would be “swooping through a topsy turvy wonderland full of colour and a sprinkle of magic, they can be sure they will meet all sorts of cool creatures along the way…”
It will open just in time for the Easter holidays.
5. 10-Inversion Coaster at Flamingo Land, Yorkshire
Still under wraps is the new rollercoaster at Flamingo Land.
Rumoured to be called 10-Inversion Coaster, it will feature ten inversions – hence the name.
Images of its construction have been shared at social media, although it is expected to open next year.
According to RCDB (Roller Coaster DataBase), it will have top speeds of nearly 53mph, and height of over 100ft.
